Guest fees and taxes

Prices are in Canadian dollars, and the full total is on the booking card before you pay. The only thing that can be added later is overtime, if you stay past your end time.

What's in the total

1. Space price: the host's rate multiplied by your time. Parking is priced by the hour, storage by the month and event spaces by the day. At busy times near events, parking rates can be higher. The booking card says when surge pricing is included.
2. Discounts: a promo code, or a Parkeas subscription discount if you have one, comes off the space price first.
3. Service fee: 5% of the space price after discounts, plus $0.40.
4. HST: 13% Ontario HST on the space price plus the service fee. Every Parkeas booking is charged Ontario HST.
5. Wallet credit: if you tick Apply wallet credit, it comes off last. It can cover all but $0.50 of a card payment.

Worked example

A driveway at $4.00 an hour, booked for 4 hours:

The booking card shows the same lines: $4.00 × 4 hrs, Service fee, HST (13%) and Total (CAD). Stripe's checkout page lists the parking, service fee and HST separately too, with any wallet credit taken off.

Recurring bookings

Each session is priced the same way. Total for … sessions and Charge today show what you pay in one payment. A promo code applies to the first session only.

If you cancel

The service fee and the HST on it aren't refunded when you cancel. In the example above, that's $1.36 ($1.20 plus $0.16 HST). The listing's refund percentage applies to the rest. If the host cancels, you get everything back, service fee included. See Cancel a booking and get a refund.

Extensions and overtime

• Extending from your booking page is priced like a booking: the hourly rate plus the service fee and HST. The price shown already includes both.
• Overtime after the 15-minute grace period is 1.5 times the hourly rate for each started hour, plus HST. There's no service fee on overtime.

Your host doesn't receive the service fee or the HST.
