Taxes for hosts

This article explains what Parkeas does with tax on bookings and what you'll find in your dashboard. It isn't tax advice. For advice about your own situation, talk to a tax professional or the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).

HST on bookings

Parkeas charges guests HST at checkout. For bookings in Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge, that's 13% Ontario HST on the booking price and the guest's service fee. It's shown on the guest's receipt.

The HST is not part of your earnings and isn't included in your payouts. Your Tax Documents page lists it as HST (remitted by Parkeas).

Whether you need to register for HST yourself depends on your own circumstances. Ask a tax professional or the CRA.

Reporting your income
